Who this covers

This policy covers rehanify.com, the portfolio of Mian Muhammad Rehan Rauf (Rehanify). The only personal details this site collects are the ones you choose to send through its contact form. Questions about this policy go to dev@rehanify.com.

What the contact form stores, and where

When you send the form, these details are saved in a message file on this website's server, in a folder that cannot be opened from the web:

  • your name, email address and message;
  • your IP address;
  • the date and time you sent it.

The same name, email address and message are also emailed to dev@rehanify.com.

To stop the form being flooded, your IP address and the time of each submission are also kept in a short rate-limit record, which allows up to 5 messages in 15 minutes from one address.

Why

Your name, email address and message are used only to read your enquiry and reply to it. The IP address and time are used only to block spam and repeated submissions. Nothing you send is sold, shared for marketing or added to a mailing list.

How long it is kept

  • Messages on the server are kept until I delete them from the site's inbox. The inbox holds at most the latest 2,000 messages, and older ones are removed automatically beyond that.
  • The email copy stays in the dev@rehanify.com mailbox until I delete it.
  • Rate-limit entries older than 24 hours are removed automatically the next time the form is used.

Asking for deletion

Email dev@rehanify.com from the address you used and ask for your message to be deleted. I will remove it from the site's inbox and from the mailbox.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Visitors to the public pages get no cookies from it at all. If analytics are ever turned on, this section will change and a consent banner will ask you first.

The site's fonts and icons load from Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare), so your browser contacts those services, and they receive your IP address as part of that request. The site's own admin login uses a session cookie, which is only set for the site owner when signing in.
